CloudVertical assets acquired by Cloudability What does it mean?
When Copper acquired Cloudvertical in 2013, we believed strongly in cloud economics as a core part of the stack we were building. Ultimately, Copper went deeper on DNS, testing and notifications than on providing cost and usage data.
We’ve always had great respect for Cloudability - and we’ve known the team there for quite some time. I think it’s fair to say they are the undisputed leader in the space - and certainly the first mover, with a rich product.
Focus is important to us, it’s hard to do a great job on multiple fronts. Rather than compete in an area where we already see a clear winner, we’ve partnered with Cloudability, who are acquiring the assets of Cloudvertical.
We’ll continue to run the Cloudvertical platform until April 10th and we won’t be investing further development resources into it. You’ll hear from Cloudability directly on how to signup and who to talk to about using the Cloudability platform. Or go straight to info page Cloudability put up to help with migration.
CloudVertical is a startup based in Dublin, San Francisco and Krakow, and we're funded by Delta Partners and Enterprise Ireland. We are looking for highly motivated, creative, and spirited individuals to add value to our team. We're trying to solve a big problem - the 'holy grail of IT' - to get all data in a single pane of glass. And we're doing a pretty good job of it so far.
We invest heavily in our culture - getting smart, experienced people is one challenge, getting team member that really want to participate in our project and add value to the whole, is another, and that's what we want. We find what works best for us is:
Communicating is fun, useful, and not a chore. We run multiple offices, so being able to effectively communicate through a few different channels, regularly, and without effort, is essential.
Willing to listen, even if you think you know the answer, and willing to coach anyone who doesn't.
Buy into the potential to do anything, even if at the first pass it looks like there's many reasons why it work work.
Be willing to fight for your point of view, or say when something isn't right - while still remaining humble.
